Peter Mitchell 's photos Album

BACK

My name is Peter Mitch Mitchell, I served on HMS Ambuscade from 1977 - 1979, as an REM (Now called WEM(R) or OM I suppose) and left as an LREM.

What a great ships comany that was, I remember some great runs while in STANAVFORLANT and the West coast of the States deployment in 79.

Some of my oppos at the time were Bill Bailey OEM, Scouse Findley REM, Paul Gunther LREM, Dave Simms OEM, Jonah Jones CEM and Dick Alcock REM, others I remember well.

As we were in 3D mess with the Stokers, we all used to go ashore as a big group, stokers and greenies, and what runs ashore they used to be. Especially notable were Dan Helder, my first Foreign run ashore, Halifax in Canada, and Cartegena in Columbia.

All involved sampling the local ooch and visiting old churches and doing some brass rubbing.
